Pastor Katy Fast grew up in Wichita, Kansas in the Lutheran Church. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry from Bethany College (ELCA) in Lindsborg, Kansas and a Master of Divinity from The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. She served for one year as a volunteer in a small village in Slovakia teaching English and serving in a Lutheran church. While doing her pastoral internship in Bradenton, Florida she met her husband Bryan, a native of New Port Richey, Florida. Her first call was as Associate Pastor at First Lutheran Church in Topeka, Kansas where she focused on Youth and Family ministry. Her second call was as a chaplain working for Gulfside Hospice in Pasco County, FL. Pastor Katy and Bryan moved to Palm Harbor when she was called to serve here at St. Mark in 2016. Bryan is a civil engineer and is working part time while their two children – John (9) and Luke (5) are young. The Fasts enjoy traveling, camping, reading, and visiting parks and beaches together as a family. Pastor Katy is so happy to be serving the people of St. Mark Lutheran Church.
